Paternoster loop for feeder, how to knit correctly

This is the simplest feeder equipment, but very effective. There are a number of advantages of the paternoster, but it is very important to know how the rig is knitted.

Installation of equipment

In order to tie a paternoster, you need to have the following materials:

  • Braid is used as the main fishing line, with a diameter of 0,1-0,14 mm.
  • For leashes, fluorocarbon or monofilament is used, with a diameter of 0,1-0,22 mm.
  • Feeding trough, type “cage”.
  • A carabiner with a swivel, but you can tie a snap without them.
  • Hooks can be taken No. 16-No. 12 for small fish and No. 9-No. 7 for larger fish (international numbering).

The reel can be fixed however you like, but there is a special place on the rod for attaching it. In this case, any type of coil can be attached.

We knit a snap

  1. The reel is attached to the rod, and then the fishing line is threaded through the guide rings, after which it is wound onto the reel.
  2. A loop is formed at a distance of 50 cm from the end of the fishing line. The loop should be large enough to fit the feeder through.
  3. To this loop, with the help of a carabiner and a swivel, a feeder is attached.
  4. The remaining end can be shortened to a length of 20 to 40 cm. After that, a loop is formed at the end of the fishing line, somewhat smaller than for the feeder. You can attach a leash with a hook to this loop.

Methods for attaching the feeder

  • It is possible to use a double clasp.
  • Single clasp plus swivel. In this case, the swivel is attached to the fishing line, and the feeder is attached to the clasp.
  • The easiest option is to attach the feeder to the fishing line, without additional elements, such as a carabiner and a swivel.

Advantages of this type of equipment

Stability on a muddy bottom

This is the most important advantage of the paternoster. The only thing that can sink the feeder, but the leash with the hook will remain on top.

Snap Sensuality

The weight-feeder has no effect on the bite moments of the fish, and they are immediately transferred to the tip of the rod. This means that the rig is very sensitive, and you can detect any, even very cautious fish bites.

Ease of execution

To tie a paternoster, it is enough to have no more than 5 minutes of time left. This means that it can be mounted directly near the reservoir, and this is what you need.
