Oxalis, according to the omen, brings good luck to the house

There are several ways to plant this plant:

  • The most convenient way to propagate this flower is by planting tubers. They are harvested from the roots of the mother plant during transplantation. 5 pieces are placed in a pot at once to a depth of 2 cm, sprinkled with earth. Before emergence, it should be in a dark and cool place, the temperature should not exceed + 10 ° C.
  • Some varieties, such as “Ortgisa” and hedizarium oxalis, can be propagated by cuttings. They must be planted in sand and kept warm, the temperature must be at least + 25 ° C. After 3 weeks, the cuttings will give roots, then they can be transplanted into a permanent place and into normal soil.
  • Another way is to sow seeds. In the spring we plant them on top of the ground, cover with foil. The soil must be constantly moistened by spraying, and the container must be opened for ventilation. Seedlings appear in 2-3 weeks, sometimes it happens later.

The soil must be taken universal, you can buy it or prepare it yourself: we mix sod and leafy soil, peat, sand, all equally. Choose a pot wide enough to fit all the tubers in it. Be sure to put drainage at the bottom of it.

To make the flower feel comfortable, you need to adhere to the following rules for the care and maintenance of the apartment:

  • the optimum air temperature for summer is + 25 ° C. In winter, it will feel good at + 15 … + 17 ° C and will be able to bloom;
  • in summer, keeping the soil moist is required. In winter, watering should be reduced to a minimum. You can spray the plant only in summer in extreme heat;
  • oxalis loves bright rooms, but you need to protect it from direct exposure to sunlight. In a dark place, it will grow, but its appearance will deteriorate;
  • during flowering oxalis needs fertilizers. Liquid complex preparations are suitable. If the plant receives nutrients in excess, it will direct its energy not to flowering, but to the growth of leaves. Therefore, use half the dosage indicated in the instructions.

For the first 4 years, the flower is transplanted every spring. If reproduction is not planned, then the transplant is carried out together with a lump of earth, so as not to accidentally damage the tubers.
