Anxiety disorders present with various warning signs. The doctor who meets the person will take into account the history, the date of onset of the symptoms, their intensity, their frequency and existing associated disorders such as headaches, neurovegetative signs, the presence of a depressive state, etc. The person will also explain the repercussions of anxiety disorders in their family, social and professional life.

If you suffer from anxiety disorders and the symptoms take up too much space in your life, I advise you to refer you to psychological care, it will allow you to reduce your symptoms and improve your psychological and social functioning. The psychologist will help you find a more peaceful life.

Depending on the symptoms identified, he will set up psychotherapy adapted to your disorders. There are several types of therapy:

  • behavioral and cognitive therapy (CBT) : oriented towards the management of emotions and present and future problems, this type of therapy helps the person to better manage their anxiety on their own with the help of psychometric measurement scales, cards and exercises aiming to meaning in his feelings, his emotions and his thoughts. CBT helps replace negative and maladaptive ideas with real-life behaviors and thoughts. Disabling symptoms (rituals, checks, avoidance, stress, aggressiveness) will be able to be overcome.
  • analytical psychotherapies : centered on the individual himself and his psychic conflicts, they are adapted to very anxious people who want to know the root cause of their anxiety disorders and their behaviors.
  • group therapies: they aim to promote exchange between people concerning their emotions and feelings. Over the course of the sessions, participants gain a better understanding of how they relate to others, improve their self-confidence, their assertiveness and learn to integrate into a group. There are several methods (psychodrama, talk groups…).

Whatever the method of taking charge chosen, the therapist will systematically have a support role, he will put in place an attentive listening and will bring you advice in the short and medium term.
