Attention, fragile
You can varnish your nails every other day, match the color of your nail polish to your outfits or your eye shadow, no problem for their health: they are made up of keratin, in other words dead cells. On the other hand, make sure to always apply a protective base, not to overflow (the varnish dries the cuticles), and especially to do not sand your nails, which deconstructs the organization of the keratin sheets. Reserve the application of semi-permanent varnishes for salon treatments (most require sanding).
Nude or lilac, the hues of spring

No varnish without well-groomed nails
Once a week, water your care nails and leave them bare for a day. We tend to forget it, but varnished nails cannot absorb anything. In addition, the frequent application of varnish dries them out and we do not always think that they too have a great need for hydration. Start by removing makeup with an acetone-free remover. Then wash your hands and brush your nails, to remove any residue of solvent, always a little aggressive. File them in one direction (without back and forth), giving them a rounded shape, without thinning them too much on the sides (this weakens them). Apply an emollient liquid to soften the cuticles, then push them back, without hitting the epidermis, using a boxwood stick or, even better (because softer), a pencil-eraser wrapped in cotton like a Cotton swab. Avoid the metal clamp which stimulates the regrowth of the skin around the nail. Soak your nails in an argan oil bath (if possible previously warmed in a bain-marie), then massage them for a few minutes (the surface as well as the contours). Oil is the texture that nails prefer! Soft skin mission
Before dressing your nails in shimmering colors, start by pampering them. Wash your hands with delicate products, erase them (insisting on the palms) once or twice a week. Cream them thoroughly and imperatively before going out and putting on your gloves (they fear thermal shock), after washing, especially in cold water, and before going to bed. If there was only one daily app to remember, this would be this one. At least your cream may work while you sleep, without being washed away. And at the risk of repeating ourselves, we say it again: putting on gloves after applying a good layer of cream (poultice style) on the hands and nails is always super effective. We haven’t invented anything better to wake up with soft skin! In terms of choice, the right hand cream is not greasy, it is quickly absorbed and slightly film-forming for effective protection. The textures now offer a dry, non-sticky feel, a velvety finish and good persistence (hold) on the epidermis, even after washing your hands. When you apply your cream, do not forget to massage your nails as well, paying particular attention to their contours. And if it is delicately scented, even better!
Smoky nails
You can, at the end of winter, darken your red and give it a smoky side using a special top coat. Equally original, Alessandro’s “Louboutin effect” varnish, to be applied on fairly long nails. Start by coloring the inside of the nail with a bright red polish. Our advice: place the brush at the edge of the nail, after having wrung it out well, then go from the outside to the inside. You can use a stencil so as not to spill over the skin and an eraser pen after installation to correct. After placing a base on your nails, apply a single layer (you will better see the underside of the nail in transparency) of black varnish. Finish by applying a top coat on the surface of the nail and below, to fix the varnish and reinforce its shine. Trendy, the black nail lined with red creates a glamorous aura, which we find much sexier than a crackle or magnetic varnish!
