“Autumn romance” – what associations do you have with this phrase? We bet that in the series of images there will probably be this: you are sitting on the windowsill, wrapped in a blanket, with a cup of cocoa in your hands, looking at the wet street, enjoying the warmth and comfort. In practice, it is usually cold and uncomfortable to sit on the windowsill. Reading corner
The windowsill often becomes a haven for flowers. And also unnecessary things for which there was no other place. And this is just a crime against the window!
If you live in an old house and are the proud owner of a wide windowsill, make, for example, a reading corner out of it. All that is needed for this is a mattress with a cover made of dense non-slip fabric to the size of the window sill, a pair of decorative pillows and a tall floor lamp. Choose a separate chair for this: accent or corresponding to the general appearance of the room, the main thing is that it is not part of an existing headset. This solution creates visual zoning, helps the brain to switch and perceive the space by the window, as if it were separate from the rest of the apartment.
Storage system
Do you do needlework? Organize a storage system on the windowsill. It is quite difficult to allocate a full-fledged room or at least a corner for a hobby, and the window sill may be more than enough to fit everything you need.
In small apartments, the window sill often becomes a place where a variety of things are put. Often this is not a carelessness of the owner, but a forced necessity. So give this chaos order! If you don’t want to give up the idea of keeping everything on the windowsill, make sure that everything is neatly arranged. For the little things that you may need at any time, an open wicker box is suitable. For items you don’t use all the time, you can buy a soft wicker basket with a lid to hide the clutter.
Both baskets and boxes come in a variety of sizes and styles, from solid white plastic to wood or wood imitation. There are baskets with a decorative fabric inner layer, there may be flowers or other embellishments on textiles – you will definitely find the right one. And a window that has just been cluttered and sloppy is already becoming a functional and cozy corner in your apartment.

Put scented candles in a candlestick – there are many options for candlesticks, so choosing the right one for your interior will not be difficult: wooden heart-shaped under a wide tea candle, minimalistic metal and glass, reminiscent of a hanging kerosene lantern, abstract glass, imitating the shape of a melting snow, – you will easily find your ideal.

Put them in order
Scratches on plastic are easy to “heal” with liquid plastic – available at any hardware store. If the handle is loose or even fell off, even a child can put a new one, it is that simple. By the way, you can put a handle with or without a lock, an unusual shape or color, so that it echoes the rest of the room. When everything in the house is serviceable and clean, life is calmer and more comfortable, even breathing easier.
Hang fancy curtains
Several canvases made of light organza in different colors will add lightness and originality to the room. A filament curtain combined with the same organza will turn an ordinary bedroom into an elegant one. Roman and roller blinds make a wonderful duet with traditional curtains, light curtains or laconic Japanese curtains-panels. In such ensembles, different prints, colors and materials are permissible.
And if the repair?
The frames do not have to be white. The color of the frames, handles and window sill can be chosen according to your own taste.
