in the USA there is National Spaghetti Day (National Spaghetti Day).

Spaghetti is a type of round pasta, thin and long threadlike round noodles. The first historical references to boiled noodles are found in the Jerusalem Talmud. According to reports, the Arabs invented this dish several thousand years ago. According to the Talmudic record, pasta has been used in food since at least the 5th century!

Today, many associate pasta with Italians, who invented a wide variety of forms of pasta and made them an integral part of the country’s culinary traditions – farfalle, shells, rotini, penne, tortellini, and, of course, spaghetti.

Spaghetti is America’s favorite pasta. In 2000, 1,3 million pounds of spaghetti were sold in American grocery stores. If all the spaghetti sold were lined up, they would have encircled the Earth nine times!

 

Spaghetti is traditionally served with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese, but not only. Popular recipes include meat, garlic, oil, pepper, herbs and many other ingredients. There are even sweet sauces with chocolate and vanilla.

In honor of National Spaghetti Day in the United States, treat yourself and the family to delicious American style spaghetti for dinner.

• minced meat – 300 g;

• durum wheat spaghetti – 200 g;

• onions – 2 pcs .;

• garlic – a couple of cloves;

• dill, parsley and other favorite spices;

• butter – 50 g;

• tomato juice – 1 glass;

• black ground pepper, salt, bay leaves;

• hard cheese – 30 g.

Salt and pepper the minced meat, add finely chopped onion, garlic and dill, knead well, knock out and form small meatballs. Pour 2 cups of water into a saucepan, bring to a boil, throw in the meatballs. Cook the meatballs over low heat, skimming off the foam. Fry onion and garlic in vegetable oil, fill with tomato juice and simmer for several minutes. Add the herbal seasonings. Pour our frying into a saucepan to the meatballs, add bay leaves, salt and pepper to taste, simmer all together for 5 minutes. Put spaghetti in boiling salted water, cook them according to the instructions on the package, making sure that they are elastic and not boiled. Drain the water, add a piece of butter and mix. Serve spaghetti with meatballs and tomato sauce, in which they were stewed, sprinkled with grated cheese and parsley.
