Munich vacation. How to entertain. Part 2

Vera Stepygina’s story about the sights of the capital of Bavaria. Continuation

Feel like a princess. To break down the stereotypes about German asceticism, austerity in interiors and unpretentiousness in everyday life is a great reason to visit one of the castles in Munich. Head to Nymphenburg, a luxurious palace with an amazing park. No matter what you read about the castle – tourist reviews or a boring travel guide, you will definitely come across the words: unique and amazing. You will not notice how, having crossed the threshold of Nymphemburg, straighten your back and slightly raise your chin, how your gait and look will change-yes, this is a real palace, there is no other way. Walk, no, walk! along the golden halls with silks, painted vaults, exquisite furniture and chandeliers. Choose a carriage or carriage to your taste, reflect on the features of the table setting with the famous Nymphenburg porcelain, dream, admire, oohe, aahe. And when you get to the real swan kingdom in the palace park, you will certainly remember that not very far from Munich there is another castle – the airy and fabulous “new swan cliff” Neuschwanstein, and you should definitely go there!

Dream and grieve. From Munich to Schwangau, which is home to the world’s most famous castle, no more than 130 km of travel, overcoming which will more than pay off your delight. Neuschwanstein – the most magical of the sights of Bavaria, replicated on puzzles, wall calendars and computer wallpaper, in reality is completely different.  Heart-wrenching, fascinating, great, filled with the music of Wagner and Tchaikovsky (the first-inspired the builder, the second was inspired by the structure). If you move around Schwangau not by bus, crowded with noisy tourists, but in a carriage, then this music is easier to hear – in the steady clatter of horses ‘hooves, in the sunlight breaking through the branches of trees, in the turquoise of the “swan” lake, in the noise of the waterfall under the bridge of Mary. Before going to Neuschwanstein, it would be good not only to remember the screen saver for Disney cartoons, but also to read something about Ludwig II or watch a film by the brilliant Visconti. Then a walk through the castles of Schwangau will not be a tourist adventure for you, but the discovery of the story of a desperate man who sincerely believed that it was possible to save our world with beauty and love.

Have fun and be afraid. The light sadness and thoughtfulness that you will bring with you from Neuschwanstein will be easily removed in Legoland, which is located just over 100 km from Munich. All the attributes of a traditional amusement park – slides with decibels of screeching for every age and taste, swing-carousels, ice cream, cafes and restaurants, but the most interesting thing is an unimaginable square with a mini-Europe assembled from millions of Lego parts. Here and Big Ben, and San Marco with pigeons and canals, and the same Neuschwanstein, and the famous Munich “Alliance Arena” in the context of thousands of fans in the stands. In an hour, you can’t go around, see, or be surprised. Especially since the worlds of George Lucas ‘ cult TV series are a step away from Europa: from Darth Vader in full growth to the most iconic places in the Star Wars universe, which you also want to explore indefinitely. Order your photo on the constructor, visit the mini-factory, take a picture next to your favorite football player, assembled from thousands of plastic parts. Let the kids fool around to the fullest and, most importantly, allow it to yourself – after all, the holidays!

Not a day, not two, and not a week will be needed to visit all the sights of the hospitable and welcoming Munich – rich in masterpieces of gallery halls, museums, architectural monuments and famous, including notorious, historical places.  But when traveling through the main tourist “must-visit”, be sure to pay attention and enjoy the details and details, in spring-from the pink chestnuts on Maximillian Strasse, from the trills of birds on the Isar embankment, in winter-from the Christmas lights and the warm aroma of mulled wine. Count the stone lions, of which there are no fewer in the city than in St. Petersburg, admire the windows of flower shops, Bavarians in national clothes at the tables in the beer hall, the efficiency of local waiters. Take this very thing, along with a wooden horse on the Christmas tree and a beer mug as a gift to a friend, you will take with you from Munich – a mood of peace and comfort, memories of real “family” holidays.
