Moss mushroom grows on wood – stumps, at the base of trunks and on sawdust of rocks, in July-September. In Europe and North America. not marked in Our Country.
It is similar to the half-gold flywheel (Xerocomus hemichrysus), but the color is not yellow, but red-brown.
Inedible.
