Occurs from the beginning of May (single specimens met on May 1) until the beginning of November (i.e., before persistent frosts) in damp birch and mixed (with birch) forests, in birch swamps, singly, not often.

Description:

up to 15 cm in diameter (there are specimens up to 30 cm), convex or cushion-shaped.

very light, from white to light brown, with a dry surface.

: white, soft, does not change color on the cut, with a pronounced mushroom taste and smell.

from white to almost black (in old mushrooms).

5-20 (up to 30 cm) elongated and thin, white or grayish.
