The most traditional neighborhoods of the Capital celebrate their popular festivals these summer days with a very varied leisure and gastronomy proposal.

San Cayetano, San Lorenzo and La Paloma are synonymous with verbena in these first days of August.

Sandwiches of squid, tripe, chicken and churros to recharge your batteries until the next day, is the traditional gastronomic proposal of the neighborhoods of the center of the city of Madrid, to celebrate their festivities.

Chulapos y chulapas, has turned this meeting into a gastronomic event It is no longer just tradition, the nearby bars elaborate and create flavors that the culinary avant-garde perfectly competes with the more conservative tradition of the capital’s stews.

During two weeks, gastronomy and chotis, they will go hand in hand to give way to the different leisure activities that the municipal councils have arranged for the occasion, with pop concerts, music championships and sports and culinary competitions.

Companies that Vistillas, Cascorro, Plaza de la Paja and Calle de la Paloma will be the festive scenarios that together with the hospitality establishments that flank the places will participate in a very traditional tapas route.

Another of the gastronomic events that will take place during the festivities, and at the end of the aforementioned Tapas route will be the celebration of the Slow Food Fair Trade Conference.

During the days 11 to 15 of August, in the market for organic and fair trade products  from Calatrava street, a variety of products that can be purchased will be exhibited, in order to collaborate in the maintenance of the search for a better world to live, eat and how not to trade.
