Loft-style kitchen: photo

The interior of this kitchen contains interesting design findings. This is, first of all, an unconventional layout, ergonomics of the interior, an unusual color of kitchen facades, and a bold use of finishing materials.

In the case of this project, we can say that the designer and his customers have found each other. The owners of the apartment (a young couple) turned out to be moderately relaxed people, a little eccentric, but most importantly, they were ready for experiments.

On a cursory examination, the interior of this kitchen does not seem particularly original. But if you take a closer look, you notice interesting findings from the designer. This is, first of all, an unconventional layout, ergonomics of the interior, an unusual color of kitchen facades, a rather bold use of decorative finishing materials, plaster and facing tiles.

Having met the customers, I immediately thought that a loft-style interior would suit them. But lofts are usually large spaces, and this is a typical kitchen. As a result, I used some elements of this style, diluting them with quotes from the decor of different eras and countries.

The kitchen space is divided into three areas: a storage system, cooking areas and a dining area. People are accustomed to standards – to lining furniture along one wall or to corner layouts. But I decided to experiment and got an ergonomic interior.

The kitchen sink was located in a niche, closer to the water supply and sewerage communications. A large two-compartment refrigerator has successfully stood next to it.

The absence of traditional ceramic tiles is noteworthy. and the so-called kitchen apron. Instead, the surfaces are covered with waterproof plaster.

To accommodate more furniture and equipment, the owners of some apartments break out ventilation ducts in the kitchens. Doing this is strictly prohibited. A suspended plasterboard cornice runs along the perimeter of the ceiling, hiding the ventilation pipes. In the working area, it is combined with a niche shelf, made to fit the size of kitchen cabinets.

Heating radiator hidden behind a lattice box. Now, almost close to the window, you can move the bench-chest, which is used both for sitting and for storing various items.

Console table has rounded corners – much safer this way.

Modern “high-tech” hood model has become an unconditional decoration of the kitchen. It fits perfectly into the volume allocated to it and does not clutter up the space.
