Life hack how to remove all germs from greens
 

In the process of growth, plants accumulate dirt, one way or another. Moreover, animals – cats, mice – could run around the beds and leave wool and even worm eggs on the plants. In addition, fertilizers could have gotten onto the greens. Therefore, it is very important, when adding greens to a salad, not to add harmful substances to the dish with it.  

If you think that it is enough to hold the leaves under running water for this, unfortunately, you are mistaken. As a rule, dirt and dangerous microorganisms accumulate between the leaves of the greenery, so one rinse will not be enough.

The most effective method to rid the leaves of greenery from all that is superfluous is to soak for 10-15 minutes in a bowl of cool water. You can add a little soda to the water, and then rinse under running water.

 

But the parasitologist, in order to surely wash the greens, is advised to act like this:

1 – rinse the herbs with running water

2 – pour a solution of soda at the rate of 1 tablespoon per liter of water. Soak for 15 to 30 minutes.

3 – rinse again under running water.

White cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli should be kept for 30 minutes in a salted solution, and then 10-15 minutes in soda. Rinse under running water.
