Lazy wisely: a recipe for a healthy breakfast a month in advance
 

Don’t feel like wasting precious morning minutes cooking? A great way to soak up your bed in the morning is to make breakfast for future use. And not just – some kind of breakfast, but the breakfast is healthy! Lazy oatmeal in a jar.

It is a very light yet nutritious dish that is great for filling. Such oatmeal is very healthy and balanced in composition, rich in protein, fiber, calcium, vitamins, practically does not contain fat and sugar. 

Moreover, we will not face hot processes here. The cold way of cooking porridge is a feature of this dish. So even more nutrients are preserved intact.

Lazy oatmeal can be frozen for up to a month. The main thing is not to fill the jar with oatmeal too much, preferably two-thirds, to avoid cracking the jar. Before use – the frozen jar must be moved from the freezer to the refrigerator (it is better to do this in the evening) so that the porridge is defrosted and can be eaten for breakfast.

 

As a dish, you need a glass jar with a lid – 0 or 5 liters.

Ingredients:

  • Oatmeal, tender, not quick-cooked
  • Yogurt
  • Sugar
  • Milk (with a minimum percentage of fat)
  • Fruit, berries (fresh or dried), sugar or honey to taste

Preparation:

1. Add oatmeal, some sugar, milk to the jar.

2. Close the lid and shake gently to combine the ingredients.

3. Add some fruit or berries on top to taste and mix a little.

4. Close the jar tightly with a lid and refrigerate for 12 hours (overnight).

5. During this time, oatmeal is well saturated with milk, fruit juice. The next day, the porridge will be very tender, soft and tasty – our dish is ready, you can eat it.

Although this recipe is intended to be consumed chilled, if you feel like warm porridge, you can heat the oatmeal in the microwave right in the jar. To do this, remove the lid and put the jar of porridge in the microwave for 1 minute (if the porridge has already been defrosted). If you like it hot, you can reheat the oatmeal a little longer.

This oatmeal recipe is basic. This means that you can create new variations of the dish to your liking by adding different ingredients.
