Kickboxing for children: classes, training, section, years

Kickboxing is a young kind of combat sports that appeared in the 60s of the last century. Boxing gloves and protective equipment are an obligatory attribute of the opponents’ fight, kicks and punches are allowed. Kickboxing is suitable for children from the second grade, both boys and girls can be engaged in it.

Kickboxing combines elements of classic boxing and martial arts. This sports martial arts is subdivided into several types. There are solo compositions when an athlete is fighting an imaginary opponent. For the solo program, the most spectacular techniques are selected, which are demonstrated to music. The performance lasts no more than 1 minute. You can start doing solo kickboxing at the age of 6 or 7.

Kickboxing for kids – fight in the ring

Among combat sports, kickboxing is one of the five most popular. The variety of sports styles makes this wrestling attractive to children and adults alike. In order to make the performances of athletes more spectacular and less traumatic, they wear protective ammunition:

  • gloves;
  • helmet;
  • shin guards;
  • “Shell” to protect the groin;
  • instep-protecting feet.

Before the start of the competition, the athlete is checked for all the ammunition, and if something is missing, they can be disqualified, not allowed to compete.

Since this is a sparing struggle, the girls are actively engaged in it. They are officially allowed to compete at all levels. Girls willingly come to kickboxing sections to be able to stand up for themselves, achieve sports victories and maintain good physical shape.

What is the use of kickboxing and is there a risk of injury

First, in the classroom with children, they train the mechanism of blows, all movements are performed, lightly touching the enemy. Opponents try to outplay each other due to superiority in speed, technique and tactics. The child develops coordination of movements, speed of reaction, memory and thinking.

Positive character traits are formed. Children are taught to respect their rival and teacher, composure, endurance and courage. Good physical development is achieved through regular exercise.

Kickboxing in the sports section cannot injure a child. In the childhood form of this single combat, strong blows of the opponent and aggressive behavior are not allowed during trainings and competitions.

Giving a child to combat sports is beneficial for his development and health. Self-discipline, perseverance, ability to stand up for oneself will be very useful to him in adulthood.
