Interior design of living room and children’s room for children

“I wanted to create a house for a happy family with two children, where in any weather there will be a feeling of sun and joy, which is what Americans call positive”, – this is how famous decorator Kirill Istomin commented on his new project.

Kirill Istomin Interior Design & Decoration offices operate in New York and Moscow. Such geography influences not only the working schedule of the famous decorator, but above all – his projects.

Within the walls of this Moscow apartment, English speech sounds very organic. She is here – like a dear. The point is not that for the people gathered in the living room this is the only possible language of communication (English photographer Simon Upton and Russian decorator with American education Kirill Istomin are discussing the staging of the shot), but in the interior itself. You might think that we are not in a Moscow new building, but in Manhattan >>

In Kirill Istomin’s interiors, all things, from carpets to robes, are made to order.

Light, elegant, flooded with light and color, this interior is the epitome of luxurious American glamor. However, Istomin does not like this definition. “Of course, there are a lot of furniture, fabrics and wallpapers from the USA, but I would not define this project as“ American ”. At least I didn’t set myself such a goal. I wanted to create a home for a happy family with two children, where the feeling of sun and joy will reign in any weather – what Americans call positive. Therefore, there are so many fresh shades here: the walls and ceilings are painted in the colors of juicy lime, delicate lilac, ripe lingonberry. Especially for this project, we have collected a collection of works by famous artists of the twentieth century. The bright canvases were decorated in the same bright frames and mat. ” >>

And in the nursery, the mirror frieze created the effect of a ceiling floating in the air. ” Another favorite material of Kirill is wallpaper with a large pattern. “So that they do not look intrusive, they should not be glued all over the room, but only on one wall, and even better – on the ceiling. I used this technique in the lobby and dressing room. “ >>

“Having entered the apartment, the owners found everything they needed and even a little more in it. I am very pleased that we were able to stay on time so that the rooms do not look crowded. In any business, it is important to understand when it is time to put an end to it. Remember, in “Alice in Wonderland”: “Where to start, your majesty?” Asked the White Rabbit. “Start at the beginning,” the King said solemnly, “and continue until you reach the end. Then stop! ” www.kirillistomin.com
