Membrane fabrics are very sensitive to any mechanical stress. How to wash membrane clothing in a washing machine? This is not recommended. At the moment, automatic machines do not have modes designed for washing such delicate fabrics.
You can wash things exclusively by hand, refusing to use conventional washing powders. The granules in them are too large and can clog the membranes. The result of such washing will be the loss of its properties by the fabric. Also, do not use bleach or fabric softener for washing.
Many experts consider ordinary laundry soap to be the ideal detergent for membrane fabrics. It helps to gently clean surface dirt, but you still need to use professional detergents from time to time to cleanse clogged pores.
Hand wash technology:
- We need to empty our pockets. Unfasten the fur if possible. Close up zippers. If the jacket has fittings, it is recommended to protect it with tape.
- Pour warm water (not higher than +40) into a high basin and dissolve liquid detergent in it. You can simply grate the soap and make a soapy solution.
- Put the jacket in water and start washing immediately. You cannot soak a thing.
- It is also forbidden to expose the fabric to mechanical stress, so if any stains are not washed off, you can rub them lightly with a brush.
- You need to rinse the thing in running water. The water should drain on its own – it is strictly forbidden to wring out the fabric using the twisting method. To remove water, the jacket must be wrapped in a large terry towel or bathrobe. The soft cloth will absorb the liquid.
Dry the item unfolded on a horizontal surface. There should be no heating devices near the drying place.
The room where the membrane clothing will dry must be well ventilated. If the jacket is going to dry outside, then it should be laid out in the shade. When the sun’s rays hit the fabric, it can cause color fading; it will no longer be possible to restore it.
If you take care of membrane tissues in accordance with all the rules, then things will serve faithfully for more than one season.
