How to teach a preschooler to eat right

How great it would be if all children were perfectly obedient. But, probably, we would be a little bored then! Today we decided to figure out how to feed the little ones and instill in the children the correct eating habits. Where to begin? What is proper nutrition? And what are the ways to awaken a healthy appetite in a child? Let’s figure it out in this article.

Does the child really eat little?

There are children who eat very little – their parents say so. These are children – little ones. Two tablespoons of soup – and the child already says that he is full. Three pasta and he’s already full. With such children, the most difficult thing is, parents give any food – just to eat something.

On the other hand, a common situation is when the parents themselves say that the child eats little. But in fact, it turns out that the child is constantly snacking – then drying, then bread, then cookies. And he doesn’t eat soup, cutlets, vegetables at all. And as a result, the child is not hungry – after all, he ate the dryers, but this is empty food. These are just fast carbs and no benefit. And because of this, there is no appetite – such is the bad habit of eating incorrectly. So what do you do?

How can you teach your child to eat good, healthy and healthy food?

It’s actually not that difficult.

1. Show an example.

You need to start with yourself – and teach yourself and all the adults in the family to good and proper food. Analyze your diet, remove all prepared foods from your shopping list, reduce sugar, and remove sweets. Stop buying candies, chips and other unhealthy foods in stock – so that they are not freely available in the house. Adults, not children, bring harmful food into the house. Of course, if the child is used to eating sweets at any time, it will not be easy. Both you and the child. But health is more important, think about it.

2. Serving dishes.

Serve dishes beautifully – improvise, look for new tastes and recipes. Let’s just imagine – if you just boil broccoli – you yourself don’t really want to eat it. And if you bake it and sprinkle it with grated cheese and sesame seeds on top, and serve it on a nice plate … And before dinner, run, jump and walk? This is a completely different matter! The appetite will be excellent, and you will want to eat a beautifully decorated dish! And to all – not only your little one!

3. About a healthy lifestyle.

For the child’s body, for its proper growth and development, it is not only proper nutrition that is important. A healthy and active lifestyle plays a very important role. Try to let the children spend as much time as possible on the street, and not at home in front of the TV. Movement is life. Once again, walk with the child – it will be useful for both you and him. If you actively spend your day and do not snack on junk food, then the kid will eat soup and salad with appetite.

Healthy food for a child

It remains for us to figure out what exactly is useful for the child. The basis of the diet should be vegetables and fruits. They contain a large amount of vitamins and minerals. They can be given to the child raw, boiled, stewed or baked. You can add vegetables to the minced meat and make cutlets and meatballs (in addition to the standard onion, you can add potatoes or cabbage to the minced meat, you get very tasty and tender cutlets). Porridge for breakfast or for a side dish is a great solution. Porridge is very beneficial for digestion, contains a large amount of fiber and provides energy for the whole day. Dairy products – it is better to offer your child unsweetened products: sour cream, kefir, yoghurts and cheese. Baking should be limited, its volume per day should be no more than 30% of the diet. Experts recommend whole grain breads or crispbreads. The most useless baked goods are made from white wheat flour, such products should be completely excluded.

Balanced, proper nutrition is the key to the health and development of a child. It is important to teach children about eating and eating by example.

Do not strive to ensure that the child “at least something to eat.” Of course, he will ask for candy first. But be firm in your intention and do not give up – and you yourself will see and feel the changes.

And always remember that no matter how you raise your child, he will still be like you. Educate yourself! I wish you success!
