How to start planning a pregnancy

Pregnancy is a very responsible path for which you need to prepare for a long time. The whole range of activities includes the transition to a healthy lifestyle, medical examinations and tests.

All parents want a healthy child to be born. To do this, you need to change your lifestyle: it is forbidden to smoke, consume alcoholic beverages and medications without a doctor’s prescription. The expectant mother needs to be more outdoors, eat healthy food that is rich in vitamins, microelements and macronutrients, even a light diet is possible. You also need to avoid stressful situations. An important factor is sleep, it should be at least seven hours.

During the period of various colds and infectious diseases, avoid crowded places, since it is not recommended to take medications during pregnancy – they can harm your baby.

Try to keep your computer time to a minimum. Experts warn that it can cause miscarriage and is the culprit for many pathologies in newborns. If your main job involves using this technique, then your boss must provide you with another alternative job. Many doctors recommend that moms start doing light physical activity – this can be swimming, fitness for pregnant women, and yoga.

The first doctor to be consulted is a geneticist. He will offer to do an analysis for a set of chromosomes to find out if there are reorganized chromosomes in the genetic material of the parents. They are considered carriers of genetic diseases and can adversely affect the health of the baby.

Do not forget to consult a therapist as well. He examines both parents for the presence of various infections, which must be eliminated long before conception. He must also attribute various vitamins, a light diet and folic acid – it has a beneficial effect on the development of the baby and reduces the likelihood of various defects and abnormalities of the fetus.

It will not be superfluous to visit an otolaryngologist and dentist, because infections of the oral cavity and respiratory tract can cause many infections.

Parents-to-be must be tested for blood group and Rh factor. If the mother’s blood test showed a negative Rh factor, then there is a need to do another test for the presence of antibodies, which can have a bad effect on the entire period of pregnancy.

After these basic examinations, the mother needs to consult a gynecologist and be examined for the presence of cervical erosion and thrush – these diseases also negatively affect the course of pregnancy.

An ultrasound of the pelvis should also be done to determine which ovary will produce its egg for conception. Additional tests include blood tests for a variety of female hormones.

The father of the future family needs to do a semen analysis for the presence of genital diseases, to detect infertility and determine the activity of sperm.

To determine which days are most suitable for conception, you need to use the basal temperature graph, it is measured in the rectum. The doctor should consider this schedule, since the temperature values for all mothers are individual.

Gynecologists believe that certain foods rich in vitamins and amino acids can increase the likelihood of conception. These are considered:

  • lettuce, cabbage and spinach are sources of folic acid, the importance of which for the expectant mother was mentioned above. Black bread and various cereals are also rich in folic acid;
  • Foods such as meat and beans are high in iron and protein, which are essential for normal ovarian function;
  • in order to stock up on calcium for yourself and the future fetus, you need to consume a lot of dairy products.

If you have completed everything from our list, and you have not managed to get pregnant, do not despair! Everything has its time, a miracle comes when you don’t expect it at all. The stronger your feelings, the lower the chance of conception.

Think only good things, create a positive attitude, and everything will work out!
