How to remove bitterness from arugula: 3 ways
 

Arugula has become very popular lately; not every green salad is complete without it. Many people fell in love with it precisely for its piquant taste, but another part of gourmets, precisely because of the bitterness, cannot accept this healthy greens. After asking experienced housewives, we learned how to get rid of bitterness.

There are 3 effective life hacks:

1. Before use, fill the arugula with salted water, after 20-30 minutes, drain this water and rinse the leaves under clean, running water. Be sure to dry the arugula with paper towels. 

2. Boiling water will also help remove bitterness. Scald the leaves with hot water and rinse immediately under cold, running water. 

 

3. And if you grow arugula yourself, then this life hack is for you. If the growing leaves are covered with something dark that does not allow sunlight to pass through, after 1-2 days the leaves will turn pale green, lose all the bitterness, but retain all the useful trace elements and vitamins.

By the way, the large leaves of arugula are more bitter, pay attention to its size when buying, small, young leaves will not taste bitter – and try to choose them
