How to remove berry stains on white and light fabric

The easiest way is to use industrial stain removers. If they are not at hand, we resort to popular advice:

  • Treat cotton fabrics with a solution of hydrogen peroxide by adding a drop of ammonia. Wash with any powder. This method is also suitable for colored fabrics;
  • prepare a mixture of citric acid and alcohol (better than wine, but you can do anything). Wipe the stain from the wrong side by placing a clean cloth under the face;
  • you can dip the spot with the stain in a citric acid solution for a few minutes. For its preparation, a large spoonful of acid is dissolved in a glass of water;
  • silk and woolen products can be cleaned by preparing a 1: 1 mixture of white spirit and glycerin. The fabric is placed on the napkin with the wrong side up, the stain is treated with a mixture. It is necessary to maintain an interval of 2 hours and wash off the stain with water;
  • Blueberries and mulberries are the most difficult to remove. Such a place must be soaked in milk overnight, and then rinsed and washed with any powder.

When removing stains on white or light colored fabrics, make sure they are completely gone. If the first time you do not achieve 100% result, try again. Only then wash the thing.

The difficulty in removing stains from colored items is the danger of spoiling the fabric pattern. It can shed or change color. There are several ways to deal with a stain on a colored area.

  • glycerin is mixed in equal proportions with alcohol. The area with the stain is treated and left for half an hour. Then rinsed with water and washed with powder;
  • instead of alcohol, you can add egg yolk to glycerin. Lubricate the stain with the mixture, leave for 2 hours and wash in warm water.

Apply the mixture to the stain from edge to center to avoid stretching the halo to other areas of the fabric. Flush off the inside out.
