How to quit bad habits?

Most people on the planet have bad habits. It is worth remembering that bad habits include not only alcohol and cigarettes, but also: coffee, foul language, the habit of not washing your hands before eating, and so on. And for many people, these habits interfere with their normal life and functioning.

The problem is always in our head

Many wanted to quit their bad habits, but they failed. Why? As a rule, a person breaks down without achieving some worthwhile result, which it will be a pity to destroy. So how can you quit your bad habit once and for all.

It should be understood that it is easy for a person to find an addiction for himself. Anything that bears at least some harm to the body, a person actively assimilates and applies on himself. Then he suffers for a long time due to the fact that he cannot part with the annoying bad habit. The fact is that a person is a masochist who likes to suffer. All the problems he experiences are in his head. The same bad habits are found somewhere in our subconscious.

In order to permanently quit a bad habit, you should understand that you no longer need it. Are you sure you want to quit? If it is difficult to do it yourself, then they will help here.

Convince yourself that you don’t like it and never liked it. If you decide to quit smoking, then remember the nasty taste in your mouth after smoking. How long the smell lasts on hands and clothes. Do you really want to always smell like tobacco? The moments when you do not smoke, but smell tobacco from the outside, do you like it?

If not, then you are on the right track. You just have to take yourself. The next time you want to smoke, sniff the cigarette, remember it in your hands and decide if you really want it? Keep in mind that a cigarette will not relieve stress – this is a self-hypnosis with which you are trying to calm yourself down.

Should you replace one habit with another?

A wedge is knocked out by a wedge – this is not about bad habits. One habit cannot be replaced by another, unless it is a useful one. But most likely, this method will not be successful. As a rule, it is difficult to instill a good habit, but it is easy to pick up a bad habit. Trying to replace one with another, you will cause a lot of stress to the body, in which all motivation can disappear.

And in this matter it is necessary to be always motivated, it is boring to always remember for the sake of what you decided to give up your harmful hobby. If you clearly set a goal for yourself and stop constantly thinking about your addiction, then soon only memories will remain of it.
