How to paint eggs with karkade tea?
Before you know it, Easter 2020 is right there! And what could be more traditional on this bright holiday than colored eggs?
When using karkade tea, the eggs can turn pale lilac, gray-blue or bright blue. It depends on some factors. The color is influenced by concentration, dyeing time, brand of tea, etc. Only white eggs should be used for dyeing with hibiscus tea.
The proportion is as follows: for half a liter of water 1-2 tbsp. spoons of karkade. For a deep blue color, you need to take 100 g of tea per 1 liter of water.
Before coloring, you need to brew tea and let it brew for about 5 minutes. After the eggs, keep in the infusion for 2-3 minutes. If the color does not suit you, you can repeat the procedure, but it is often not recommended to do this, because there is a chance of getting gray.
Karkade gives blue shades, to get reddish, you need to add a few drops of lemon juice or citric acid to the infusion.
