In summer, white socks are simply irreplaceable. They go well with shorts and light summer trousers. However, after one day of wearing, this item of clothing is simply unrecognizable: it acquires an unpleasant gray tint, which is so difficult to get rid of. How to machine wash socks

The key rule in this matter is the selection of a suitable detergent. Ordinary baking soda, which everyone in the kitchen surely has, will do the job perfectly. Simply pour 200 g of this product into the rinse aid compartment and start washing in the appropriate mode. After this procedure, the socks will become snow-white again. By the way, you can also put some tennis balls in the drum of the machine. Such mechanical action will only enhance the effect.

If the socks are too dirty, pre-soaking is indispensable. For him, you can use the tools that are also always at hand.

• Laundry soap. Wet the product, rub it well with this simple detergent and leave it overnight. In the morning, machine wash using one of the express modes.

• Boric acid. Soak the socks for a couple of hours in a solution of 1 liter of water and 1 tbsp. l. boric acid.

• Lemon juice. Squeeze the lemon juice into a bowl of water and place the socks there for 2 hours. If there are particularly dirty areas, rub them with pure lemon juice just before washing.

Any of the described methods will not take much of your time and effort. But after carrying out these simple manipulations, the clothes will become snow-white again.

It’s okay if you don’t have access to a washing machine. It is quite possible to cope with such a task manually. The easiest way to do this is the old student way. First, lather the socks with any soap (it is best, of course, to use a laundry soap) and leave them for a couple of hours. After this time, put the products on your hands, like mittens, and rub your hands together thoroughly. Then it remains only to rinse them under running water.

By the way, wool socks cannot be machine washed at all, since after that they will become unsuitable for wearing. Wash them in warm water (no more than 30 degrees). Rub the fabric thoroughly on both sides with a special detergent for woollens.

Even if you are far from household chores, the described tips will help you return your things to their previous look. Add laundry soap or boric acid in your bathroom, and you will no longer be bothered by the problem of gray clothes.
