How to fry or bake cod: delicious recipes. Video

Among the many ways to prepare cod, frying and baking are especially popular. With the availability of ingredients within a short period of time, a variety of flavors can be obtained.

Cod is a wonderful fish that many housewives undeservedly ignore. It is, of course, not as fashionable as popularized salmon, but no less useful. Cod contains a lot of vitamin B12, which is beneficial for the nervous system and even mood. It contains a large number of different microelements: selenium and magnesium, potassium and iodine, phosphorus and calcium, which are necessary for many metabolic processes in the body.

In addition, cod contains practically no fat: its energy value is 80 kcal per 100 grams, and it is a very high-quality protein.

And cod is also appreciated for the fact that it, like any sea fish, has few bones. It is very easy to cook, but this fish turns out to be soft, tender and very tasty. We have collected some interesting recipes for you.

How to cook cod in the oven

In order to deliciously bake fish, take:

  • 0,5 kg cod fillet;

  • 1 onion;

  • salt, pepper, dill to taste;

  • some vegetable oil;

  • 1-2 fresh tomatoes or a few canned dried ones;

  • a few slices of lemon;

  • foil.

Lubricate the surface of the foil with oil, put onion rings on it. Season the cod fillet with salt and pepper, put on the onion. Sprinkle fish with herbs on top, put lemon rings and tomato slices. After making an airtight envelope out of foil with fish inside, send it to an oven preheated to 180 degrees. Diet cod will be ready in 20 minutes.

By the same principle, you can bake fish in the form, but then it is advisable to additionally use some kind of sauce, otherwise the cod will turn out to be dryish

How to fry cod: video recipe

Fried cod is quickly prepared, for which you can use both fish fillets and pieces of its carcass. Dip the fish in wheat flour or breadcrumbs, salt and put in a pan with already heated vegetable oil. Take oil in such an amount that the level reaches the middle of the pieces of fish. This will make it more golden and crisp.

After frying the fish on one side, turn the pieces over to the other side and cook until a crust forms. For fillets, this takes only 5-7 minutes. Thicker pieces take longer to roast. Do not cover the pan with a lid, otherwise the cod will turn out to be stewed, not fried.

Instead of bread crumbs, you can use a batter made from a mixture of eggs, a tablespoon of mineral water and flour. In terms of density, it should resemble thick sour cream.

How to cook cod with vegetables

Fish with vegetables baked in the oven is no less tasty.

To prepare it, take:

  • 1 kg of potatoes;

  • 20 g butter;

  • 0,5 kg cod fillet;

  • 2-3 heads of onions;

  • 2 carrots;

  • vegetable oil;

  • salt;

  • 150 ml of milk;

  • 100 g hard cheese.

Peel the potatoes, boil them, crush them with a crush together with butter, getting a kind of regular mashed potatoes, but not breaking the lumps too much, and put them on the bottom of a greased form. Cut the onion into half rings, carrots into slices and fry them in oil. Place the cooked onions and carrots on top of the potatoes and the cod pieces on top.

Pour milk over the dish, sprinkle the fish with grated cheese on top and place in the hot oven. At 180 degrees, the fish casserole will be ready in half an hour. This recipe can be adapted for a multicooker by taking products in the proportions recommended for use in the accompanying instructions.
