How to dye your eyebrows: video tips

Beautiful eyebrows of the right color make facial features more attractive. Of course, you can tint your eyebrows with a pencil every day, and wash off this makeup in the evening. But another option is also possible – persistent long-term coloring, which saves time for morning makeup. For many women, it is easier to visit a professional salon, where the master will dye the eyebrows in the desired color. But if for some reason you don’t want to go anywhere, you can dye your eyebrows yourself, at home.

How to dye your eyebrows: practical tips

First, you need to select and purchase the right eyebrow tint from a cosmetics store. There are reusable and disposable paints on the market, in powder or gel form. The main colors are brown, black and gray. Try not to skimp on eyebrow dye by buying a box from a dubious manufacturer or with an expired date. The consequences can be very unpleasant – from color instability to burns and hair loss. In addition, hair dye should not be used, as it can damage the structure of the eyebrow hair and the skin of the face.

Before or after the coloring procedure, do not forget to give your eyebrows the correct shape.

By dyeing your eyebrows at home to match your hair, you will look fashionable and natural. However, if you are a natural blonde, it is not necessary to lighten your eyebrows – you can dye them a tone darker. For fair-haired shades of brown, close to hair color, are suitable. Black is perfect for hot brunettes. For redheads, golden and terracotta colors are good.

Preparing for the staining procedure

Before you start dyeing your eyebrows, do a sensitivity test on your skin. Using a cotton swab or disc, apply a small amount of paint to the outside of the fold of your arm, then wait 20 minutes. This remedy is suitable for you, if during this time there is no irritation on the skin. Eyebrow dyeing is contraindicated in the presence of inflammatory eye diseases.

Important: it is strictly forbidden to use metal utensils to dye eyebrows, since the dye contains an oxidizing agent

To carry out the painting procedure at home, prepare the tools:

  • coloring instructions, which are usually found in the packaging of eyebrow dye
  • cotton swabs or a clean eyelash brush for applying dye
  • a small ceramic or glass dish for making paint
  • a towel, as well as cellophane or rubber gloves to protect clothes and hands from paint
  • oily face cream to protect the skin around the eyebrows from dye
  • cleaning wipes or cotton pads to remove excess paint

Wearing protective gloves, prepare the paint according to the instructions supplied. Squeeze out about 2 mg of the coloring agent into the prepared dishes, then add 8-9 drops of an oxidizing agent (hydrogen peroxide) to the paint, which can be replaced with 1 tablet of hydroperite by dissolving it in 1 tsp. warm boiled water. Mix all these components thoroughly until the consistency of a thick mass. The prepared paint must be used immediately.

Lubricate the skin around the eyebrows with a greasy cream. With a cotton swab or brush, take a little paint and apply on the eyebrows gently, in a thick, even layer. At the same time, try not to allow the coloring agent to come into contact with the mucous membrane of the eyes.

If this does happen, you must immediately rinse your eyes with plenty of tap water.

Allow the paint to cure for a maximum of 15 minutes and then remove any residue with dry cotton pads. After finishing the procedure, rinse your eyebrows thoroughly with warm water. If the paint gets on the skin, lubricate it with a cotton pad soaked in greasy cream and massage the stained areas with light movements. Alternatively, wash it off with liquid hand soap.

The eyebrow dyeing procedure should be repeated approximately once a month, depending on the quality of the dye used and the hair growth rate.
