How to customize the Ribbon in Excel 2013

Not all Microsoft Excel users are comfortable working with the tabs preinstalled on the Ribbon. Sometimes it’s much more practical to create your own tab with the required set of commands. In this tutorial, we will show you how to do this in Excel.

Any Excel user can customize the Ribbon to suit their needs by creating the necessary tabs with any list of commands. Teams are placed in groups, and you can create any number of groups to customize the Ribbon. If desired, commands can be added directly to predefined tabs by first creating a custom group.

  1. Right-click on the Ribbon and select from the drop-down menu Customize the ribbon.

  3. Make sure it’s highlighted A new group. Select a team and click Add. You can also drag commands directly into groups.

If you did not find the required command among the frequently used ones, open the drop-down list Select teams and select the item All teams.
