How to knit shoes for babies
The first shoe for a baby should not only be comfortable, but also soft. It must be done from delicate threads that will not cause allergies in the baby. You can use: cotton, acrylic or wool.
Crochet baby booties can be crocheted even during pregnancy
There should be no seams on the knitted product; in extreme cases, its seams should be outside, so as not to rub the delicate skin of the child. The size of soft shoes depends on the age of the baby:
- the first months – 8-9 cm;
- 3-6 months – up to 10 cm;
- 1 year – about 13 cm.
It is preferable to measure the baby’s leg before starting work. You need not only a foot, but also an ankle size.
We collect air loops according to the size of the baby’s legs. For a foot length of 10 cm, 16 loops are obtained. Next, we knit like this:
- 2 rows – with a half-column;
- half 3 also, and then in a column;
- double crochet and double crochet on the toe;
- 5th row will be completed with a half-column.
It turned out 60 loops in a circle – this is a foot.
It is better to strap the foot from the heel. 1 chain – a single crochet, 2-5 – they are the same, but with a crochet. In 6 – 18 sc, then 12 times do 2 columns with a crochet and a common top. To complete the bow: 7 row – 18 PRS, 6 loops on the toe, connect 2 in st. s / n. The remaining 18 loops are st. b / n. 8 row consists of 18 tbsp. b / n, then we connect 16 loops of 2 in a column s / n, and the next 18 – a column b / n. The thread needs to be cut off.
We proceed to the “tongue”. Use the 10 front loops. Knit 9 sc. In the 10th final row, reduce the loops, one on each side. The thread must be cut off.
Remains the backdrop, the remaining loops will go to it.
Knit 6 rows of sc, grabbing 3 loops from the tongue on each side. Make a nice piping around the edge and tape in so you can tighten the heeled shoes.
