How to cook red buckwheat

Cook red buckwheat. “Krasnaya” is not a variety or a manufacturer’s name, it is a way to cook buckwheat porridge, which will be appreciated by both adults and, of course, children. Cooked according to this recipe, buckwheat turns out to be bright, crumbly, tasty and aromatic.

1. Dry the buckwheat in a dry frying pan over medium heat for 4–5 minutes. Then transfer to a plate.

2. Peel the onion and garlic cloves and chop finely.

 

3. Pour the oil into a skillet and fry the onion for 4-5 minutes, then add the garlic and cook for another 1 minute over low heat.

4. Pour in cereal and pour in boiling water. Cover and cook for 15–20 minutes over low heat until buckwheat is done.

5. Peel and grate beets, mix with ready-made buckwheat and add lemon juice.

6. Warm up for another 2-3 minutes.

7. When serving, add chopped nuts and herbs.
