How to cook green shrimp

  • Boil water in a saucepan, salt and add a couple of garlic cloves (you don’t need to peel the garlic).
  • Cook chilled shrimps for 3-5 minutes, and frozen ones for 7-10 minutes after boiling again.
  • If you want to get the intestine out of the shrimp before boiling, then the shrimp will have to be taken out of the freezer in advance, thawed at room temperature, and after cutting the back of the crustacean along, take out that black thread.
  • You can add a hot pepper pod, a couple of garlic cloves, a bay leaf, some lemon juice, and a couple tablespoons of soy sauce to boiling water, but the shrimp will be delicious even if you don’t have all of the above on hand.

Green shrimp are of two types: chilled and frozen. With frozen shrimp, everything is simple – when buying in the supermarket, you need to look for these shrimps in the freezer, next to other frozen seafood. Chilled shrimps are shrimps that, after being caught, have not undergone any processing, but have been laid out on ice and delivered relatively fresh to the point of sale.
