How to cook crisp rice

Rice contains a lot of starch, so there is a high probability of turning it into a viscous porridge. Some people mistakenly believe that in order to get a crumbly structure of rice, you need to wash it several times, or even soak it. This will slightly reduce the starchiness of rice, but will save the situation little.

In fact, to get crumbly rice, you need to boil it in a large ratio with water – 1 to 4 or even 1 to 5 (rice to water).

It would be ideal to rinse the rice in cold water, fry it a little in a pan, season, and only then pour the water.
