Products

for 200 grams of spaghetti

Smoked ham or bacon – 150-200 grams

Parmesan – 150-200 grams

Egg yolks – 4 pieces

Cream with 20% fat – 1 cup (or 150 milliliters of cream with 25-33% fat)

Garlic – 4 prongs

Olive oil – 2 tablespoons

Salt – 2 teaspoons

Pepper – 1 teaspoon

Dried basil – 1 tablespoon (can be replaced with a few fresh sprigs)

How to cook carbonara

1. Put a saucepan on the fire, add oil, add finely chopped garlic and fry for 1 minute.

2. Add finely chopped bacon and fry for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3. In a bowl, beat the egg yolks, add the cream and beat again, season with salt and pepper.

4. Place the fried bacon on a paper towel to remove excess fat.

5. Grate Parmesan cheese (finely grated) into a bowl with sauce, add basil and mix well.

6. Place the Carbonara sauce over the hot spaghetti.

5. Put the fried bacon on top of the sauce.

 

This amount of carbonara is enough for 4 servings of spaghetti.

– Store carbonara in the refrigerator for 12 hours. As a rule, due to the short shelf life, carbonara is prepared for 1 dose.

– Parmesan in the recipe can be replaced with any hard cheese. If you buy Parmesan, keep in mind that grated cheese is usually more expensive. But also more convenient.

– Calorie content of spaghetti carbonara – 287 kcal / 100 grams. (for comparison, the calorie content of boiled pork is 349 kcal / 100 grams).

– If there is no heavy cream, you can use a little more cheese – then the sauce will acquire the necessary thickness due to the density of the cheese.
