To begin with, to find out how to clean a grate on a gas stove, it is worth finding out which grates are on the stove. This will determine how you have to clean them. There are three such materials for gratings in total:

  • cталь;
  • enamel;
  • cast iron.

For each of them, you will have to choose your own cleaning method.

How to clean a grate on a gas stove: cast iron grates

This alloy is not recommended for washing in the dishwasher: it can rust, because it is afraid of water. And if you scrape it with a knife, sandpaper or metal sponge, there is a chance to finally scratch it.

However, there is a way to clean the cast-iron grates on the gas stove.

  • To do this, they will have to be ignited – so all the dirt will fall off.
  • We heat the grate directly above the stove. But if you have a blowtorch and a garage, it’s even easier and faster.
  • It needs to be heated until the dirt and grease fall off on its own.

Another way: attach a brush with metal rods to a drill or screwdriver and simply polish until clean.

To remove dirt and grease from steel, you will have to find some caustic detergent that will not damage the metal. It will have to be applied evenly over the entire surface of the grill, without missing a millimeter. Then leave for a while. It is best to do this in the evening, so that in the morning you can just thoroughly rinse the grate and start using it. During the night, the tool will eat away everything that is possible.

Enamel is a very fragile material that can be easily damaged. Therefore, you need to treat it carefully and carefully. That is, brushes with hard metal rods, not to mention emery or a knife, cannot be used. Deep, almost metal, scratches will remain.

The easiest method is to put this grid in the dishwasher and wait for the automation to do everything by itself. But if it is not there, it is worth using mustard powder, which must be applied dry to a damp surface for several hours. Better at night. After that, it is enough just to rinse the wire rack and dry it. It is impossible to use wet immediately after washing: the enamel may crack.

All three types can be cleaned with ammonia. You just need to put it on the wire rack, put it in the bag and just wait. And then, after a few hours, wash off.
