How to clean a wooden chopping board
 

A wooden cutting board is ideal for the kitchen. It is made from natural raw materials, pleasant to look at and easy to use. The only negative is that it gets dirty quickly, and germs can multiply in the cuts from the knife, despite the daily washing.

After washing the board with detergent, never wipe it down with a kitchen towel. The wet board should be left to dry in an upright position. Maximum, if you need a dry board urgently, wipe it with a paper towel.

From time to time, the cutting board, especially on which meat and fish are processed, needs to be disinfected. To do this, simply soak the cutting board in chlorine for half an hour. Then rinse it thoroughly under running water and leave to dry.

 

For the board on which vegetables and bread are cut, soda treatment is suitable – it is more gentle. For half a liter of water, you need a teaspoon of baking soda. Wipe the surface of the board with this mixture on both sides, and after 10 minutes rinse and dry.

Another way is to use hydrogen peroxide for disinfection – 2 teaspoons per half liter of water.

An ordinary lemon will help get rid of the stubborn unpleasant smell – cut it in half and wipe the surface of the board with a juicy cut. After 10 minutes, rinse and dry. Vinegar has the same effect, the smell of which will disappear.
