How long to cook dolichos?

Before cooking dolichos (lablab), it requires soaking for 8-10 hours in plenty of cold water. After this procedure, it is enough to rinse the dolichos and you can cook – pour the cereal in a saucepan with boiling water with a couple of centimeters in reserve, cook without a lid over low heat for 2 hours.

How to cook dolichos

You will need – dolichos, water

1. After eight hours of soaking, remove the dolichos from the water in which the beans were soaked.

2. Gently rinse the dolichos in fresh water.

3. Pour fresh water into a separate saucepan so that it can completely cover the dolichos, place on medium heat, and wait until it boils.

4. Reduce heat to low.

5. Put dolichos into boiling water, cook without a lid for two hours over low heat – when the liquid boils, add boiling water.

6. Season with salt when the dolichos is almost ready – 5 minutes before cooking.

7. Remove the ready-made dolichos beans from the water with a slotted spoon or discard them in a colander.

 

How to cook dolichos soup

Products

Pork – 500 grams

Dolichos – 1 cup 300 milliliters

Tomatoes – 2 medium tomatoes

Bow – 1 medium head

Vegetable oil – 3 tablespoons

Lemon – 1 piece

Garlic – 4 prongs

Ground black pepper – half a teaspoon

Salt – a tablespoon

How to make dolichos soup

1. Soak the dolichos in water.

2. Pour 4 liters of water into a saucepan, put thawed pork and dolichos, cook for 1,5 hours.

3. Salt the broth.

4. Place and cut the pork, return to the broth.

5. Peel and finely chop the onion.

6. Peel the tomatoes and chop.

7. Preheat a frying pan, fry the onions.

8. Add the tomatoes and simmer together with the onions for 10 minutes.

9. Add chopped garlic, spices, salt and cook for another 5 minutes.

10. Serve with sliced ​​lemon.

How to cook dolichos in a multicooker

– Soak dolichos for 8 hours, put in a multicooker saucepan, fill with water 2 centimeters above the dolichos. Set the multicooker to the Beans mode and set the cooking time to 30 minutes. Peel the garlic and pass through a garlic press. Wash and chop the celery.

At the end of the dolichos cooking mode, add chopped garlic and celery, basil, salt and pepper to a slow cooker, and mix well. Continue cooking for another 30 minutes.
