Homemade tortillas: how to bake? Video

For breakfast or afternoon tea, you can make homemade cakes from yeast dough. They can be eaten without additives or flavored with honey, butter and jam. From the proposed set of products, 3 large cakes will be obtained.

You will need: – 500 g of wheat flour (preferably from durum varieties); – 300 ml of milk; – 90 g butter; – 1 teaspoon of salt; – 90 g icing sugar; – 15 g dry yeast; – 300 g of dark seedless raisins; – 1 egg.

Soak the raisins in hot water, then fold them on a sieve and dry. Combine flour and salt in a large bowl, add butter and chop everything into crumbs. Heat the milk and dissolve the sugar in it. Remove from heat and dissolve yeast in two tablespoons of slightly cooled milk. Leave the mixture on for 15 minutes, it should foam slightly. Then pour the yeast mixture into the remaining milk and add it to the flour mass. Knead a soft dough.

Roll the dough into a ball, place it in a preheated saucepan and put it in a warm place for half an hour. Then add raisins to the dough and mix thoroughly. Collect the dough again in a ball and leave to come up. After 15 minutes, start cutting the tortillas.

Divide the dough into 3 pieces, roll each into a ball and place on a greased baking sheet. Cover the balls with a tea towel and let sit for a quarter of an hour. Flatten each ball so that it looks like a plate-sized flatbread. Beat an egg in a separate container and brush over the surface of each tortilla. Let the finished products fit – they should double in size. This will take about 45 minutes.

Place a baking sheet with tortillas in an oven preheated to 200 ° C. Bake the food for 20 minutes until a light brown crust forms. Serve the tortillas warm.
