There are many alternatives to potato chips; it is not uncommon to find snacks made from rice or corn flour. And these chips can be made at home yourself from seasonal fruits or vegetables. If you do not have a dedicated dryer, you will need an oven, frying pan, and a wire rack – in a microwave or oven. 

Parmesan

Rub the Parmesan cheese and spoon onto a silicone mat or baking sheet lined with baking paper. Cheese is baked for 3-5 minutes, until golden brown.

Ham

 

The ham should be cut very thinly, season to taste and let stand for a while, marinate. You can fry the ham in a pan, or you can dry it in the oven until it is crispy.

Tofu

The tofu should be cut into neat squares and dried with a paper towel so that moisture does not interfere with the drying of the chips. Fry the cheese in hot vegetable oil in a skillet, keeping the tofu on fire for 5 minutes on each side. Then place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Beetroot

Beets, despite belonging to vegetables, will become the basis for sweetish chips. Slice the beets thinly, brush them with olive oil and salt a little. Roast the beetroot chips on one side for 20 minutes, then turn all the pieces over.

Zucchini

Zucchini should be cut into thin slices, like tomatoes, pour over with vegetable oil – preferably olive oil, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and grated cheese. Bake the chips in the oven until the zucchini is browned, turn over and bake until crispy.

Cucumber

Not everyone dares to cook cucumbers at least somehow at high temperature, but in vain. Despite being 90 percent water, cucumber makes a good base for crispy crisps. Thanks to their neutral flavor, cucumber chips can be made to taste just the way you like them. The main thing is to thinly cut the cucumbers, sprinkle with vinegar and sprinkle with salt and spices. Bake the chips at the lowest temperature for several hours until all the water from the cucumbers has evaporated.

Also a good option for a dessert snack. A pear, like a cucumber, is baked in the oven for a long time, for several hours on low heat. Just cut the peeled fruit into thin slices and send to the oven.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes require preliminary preparation. Cut the fruit into thin slices and carefully remove the seeds. Then place the slices on a greased baking sheet with vegetable oil. And dry over low heat until crisp. At the end, you can sprinkle the chips with spices or grated cheese.

Brussels sprouts

Brussels sprouts are very tender and make very thin chips – this will be a delicate dietary snack in your diet. Separate each cabbage leaf, drizzle with olive oil and season to taste. The chips are baked for a short time – 5-7 minutes.

Pineapple

Pineapple is a watery fruit and loses its taste when completely dried. Therefore, slices of pineapple, thinly sliced, are fried in the oven on a wire rack until dried. Pineapple does not need seasoning, but you can use confectionery spices – vanilla, cinnamon.
