  • Pendula. This variety has a spherical, weeping crown shape, grows up to 3 m, is used in single plantings and in groups.

All varieties are grown on a trunk, which is used as the trunk of the tree itself or creeping willow, shaggy, red. It is difficult to vaccinate on your own, therefore it is better to buy ready-made seedlings. The stamper tree looks spectacular on lawns, the banks of reservoirs, in rocky gardens.

Planting and caring for goat willow

This tree is unpretentious, but without proper care it can lose its decorative effect. When growing it, you need to adhere to the following rules:

  • Choosing a place. Willow grows well in all soils, but prefers light loams with a low lime content. A well-lit, draft-free area is best suited for her.
  • Landing. When choosing a seedling, make sure that the grafted shoots are not dry and develop normally. In spring or autumn, plant it in a pit, after laying a drainage layer in it, adding compost or humus, water it well.
  • Pruning. To give the tree a decorative look, you need to prune from the first years in June after flowering, leaving 30-60 cm of shoots and giving the crown the necessary shape. Remove any wild growth that grows at the grafting site annually.

The rest of the tree does not require maintenance. Watering is needed only for young plants, the frost is not terrible for the plant, but it can pick up fresh shoots a little.

Willow inflorescences are used in bouquets, honey obtained from its nectar has a peculiar taste with a pleasant bitterness and is used for colds. The umbrella-like tree blends well with other plants and is easy to grow.
