Forget antidepressant medication

According to a study conducted by the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, and presented at the annual conference of plastic surgeons in San Francisco, plastic surgery in some cases is quite capable of replacing the patient with antidepressant treatment.

In a study of 362 plastic surgery patients, it was convincingly proven that 98% of them had improved self-esteem. Before surgery, 62 out of 362 people were taking antidepressants. After surgery, one third of them stopped taking antidepressants. Most of these patients, or rather, female patients, are women 40-50 years old who have undergone standard “anti-aging” operations: breast, abdomen and facelift surgery.

“We are only at the beginning of the road, the study of this issue will be continued. But already now we can confidently state that the consciousness of one’s own attractiveness leads to positive changes in the psyche, ”says Bruce Friedman, MD, the head of this study.
