Figure skating lessons

Fresh frosty air, quiet swirling snowflakes and sparkling Christmas decorations ice rink… That’s where the wonderful holiday atmosphere reigns. A ride here with your family or friends is a real winter pleasure.

So that nothing overshadows it, first you need to choose the right skates. Choose the size, focusing on the insole: it should be longer than the foot by 4-5 mm. Shoes should not be too tight, otherwise the blood circulation will be disrupted, and the feet will quickly become numb in the cold. The shoes should not hang out either. If the foot is not securely fixed, it will be difficult to stand on the ice.

It is important to be able not only to ride correctly, but also to fall correctly. When sliding, slightly tilt the body forward — so you will reduce the risk of falling on your back. If it is unavoidable, try to group yourself: press your chin to your chest and put your hands forward. Soften the fall with your hand, but never with your elbow. Ideally, it is better not to fall at all. And to do this, you need to slow down in time. The easiest and most reliable way is to brake with the heel. To do this, bring your legs parallel to each other and pull the sock towards you.

Remember, there is a kind of etiquette at the rink. If you’re not sure how to hold on to the blades, always give up the track to skaters going at a decent speed. The sides of the rink are designed for beginners, while the center is given to experienced amateurs. Try not to break the direction of the general movement — it always goes counterclockwise. Be extremely careful and do not be distracted. As soon as you get used to these simple rules, you will start to enjoy riding.
