Fechtners boletus (Butyriboletus fechtneri) photo and description

Boletus Fechtner is found on calcareous soil in deciduous forests. It grows in the Caucasus and the Far East, as well as Our Country. The season for this mushroom, that is, the period of its fruiting, lasts from June to September.

Hat 5-15 cm in ?. It has a hemispherical shape, becoming flatter with growth. The skin is silvery white. It may also be pale brownish or shiny. The texture is smooth, slightly wrinkled, when the weather is wet – can be slimy.

The pulp has a fleshy, dense structure. White color. The stem may be slightly reddish in color. In air, when cut, it may become slightly blue. Has no pronounced odor.

The leg has a height of 4-15 cm and a thickness of 2-6 cm. It may be slightly thickened at the bottom. Young mushrooms have a tuberous stalk, solid. The surface of the stem may be yellowish with a red-brown color at the base. A mesh pattern may also be present.

The tubular layer of Borovik Fechtner is yellow, has a free deep recess. The tubules are 1,5-2,5 cm long and have small rounded pores.

Spore powder – olive color. Spores are smooth, spindle-shaped. The size is 10-15×5-6 microns.

The mushroom is edible. It can be consumed fresh, salted, and canned. It belongs to the third category of taste qualities.
