Eztom with anti-inflammatory and antipruritic properties. When should I use Eztom?

Eztom is a topical preparation with anti-inflammatory and antipruritic properties containing a corticosteroid. The preparation is indicated in the treatment of skin inflammations such as psoriasis (except for plaque psoriasis) and AD (atopic dermatitis). The active substance is mometasone. The drug is a topical cream and can be obtained with a prescription.

Eztom – indications

The preparation is indicated in:

  1. symptomatic treatment of inflammatory skin conditions that respond to the effects of topical corticosteroids, such as psoriasis (excluding widespread plaque psoriasis),
  2. atopic dermatitis (AD).

Eztom and contraindications:

  1. hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation,
  2. the preparation should not be used: in acne vulgaris or rosacea, in dermatitis around the mouth, in atrophic skin lesions, in bacterial infections (e.g. impetigo, pyoderma), viral infections (e.g. herpes, shingles, chicken pox), parasitic and fungal infections (e.g. caused by dermatophytes or yeasts), in the case of post-vaccination reactions, in the case of tuberculosis, in the case of syphilitic skin lesions, in itching around the anus and genitals, in diaper dermatitis, on the skin of the eyelids, on damaged skin,
  3. not to be used in children under 6 years of age.

Dosage

Adults, adolescents and children over 6 years of age: a thin layer of Eztom to carry the affected areas of the skin (once a day).

Eztom – warnings

  1. Eztom should not be used for more than 3 weeks.
  2. Do not use the drug on a large area of ​​the skin (the maximum area of ​​skin that can be applied to is up to 20% of the body surface in adults and up to 10% of the body surface in children).
  3. Do not use on the skin of the face without close medical supervision and for no longer than 5 days.
  4. In children, do not use for more than 5 days and only under the supervision of a doctor.
  5. The treatment should not be stopped suddenly. Sudden interruption may cause the so-called “Rebound effect” or exacerbation of symptoms.
  6. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not use Eztom unless considered essential by the doctor.
  7. There is no information on the effect of the preparation on the ability to drive and use machines.

Inform your doctor about taking: Oral or injectable corticosteroids (inhalants used to treat asthma, nasal sprays, ointments, creams).

Eztom – side effects

The use of Eztom may cause: burning / prickling / tingling sensation at the application site, itching, bacterial infections, boils, sensory disturbances (paraesthesia), atrophic skin changes, stretch marks, irritation, hirsutism, dermatitis around the mouth, skin maceration, allergic contact dermatitis, acne, reactions acne, telangiectasia (widening of small subcutaneous vessels visible as the so-called spider veins), dry skin, heat rash, folliculitis, allergic reactions.
