How to restore a down jacket after washing
All down products, be they clothing or bedding, have some things in common. As a rule, they are made at least two-layer. Inside there is a cover made of dense fabric, which does not allow fluffs to be knocked out. The outer part of a modern down jacket is most often made of waterproof fabric. This is both good and bad. Good because the fluff does not get wet from rain and snow. But some not-so-conscientious clothing manufacturers are too confident in the water-repellent properties of the fabric. They sometimes neglect the once immutable rule: down jackets should be stuffed only with the down of waterfowl, which does not rot when moisture enters. Therefore, it is necessary to wash the down jacket carefully, and dry it especially carefully. Old down jackets must be hand washed. Modern – it is possible in a typewriter, but in a delicate wash mode and with the help of special detergents. If washing with regular powders, add fabric softener at the end of the process.
