Design of a small studio apartment

Design of a small studio apartment

A dream home doesn’t always have to be large for you to feel comfortable in. You can also live comfortably in an apartment with an area of about 30 square meters. Despite such a small area, you can find everything you need for a happy life in this apartment. The main thing is to think over the design correctly in order to place all the necessary things without cluttering the space.

Visually expanding the space

To make a small apartment seem larger, when planning the interior, it must be remembered that all the details should be aimed at visually increasing the space. Therefore, many are afraid to use dark colors in such rooms, so that such shades press on you during a long stay in the room. However, if you use bright colors correctly and in moderation in small studios, this will become the main feature of your apartment.

For a small studio apartment, minimalism is best (for example, you can choose a traditional Japanese-style interior, which is just minimalism). And, no matter how paradoxical it sounds, you shouldn’t litter the apartment with unnecessary things and think about the storage system in advance. Another important rule is that a small studio needs to be furnished with large items.

It is also worth abandoning the curtains that make the space heavier and replacing them with Roman blinds or roller blinds. Thus, the studio will become much brighter and the area will visually increase.

And, of course, do not forget about the mirrored planes, which visually increase the space, and the room will seem wider (for example, a wardrobe with mirrored sliding doors can be placed in the entire wall).

As for the color, it is better to leave the background light (neutral colors or pastel shades are suitable), and use bright or dark colors to emphasize accents. Intense shades add depth to the interior.

Basic rules for decor in a small apartment

To make your small apartment cozy and comfortable, you just need to follow a few basic rules.

1. If you have a partition between the room and the kitchen, then you can remove it and replace ordinary doors with sliding doors or completely abandon them. Also, do not forget to highlight separate areas with the help of light partitions, cabinets or shelving.

2. It is necessary to use mirrored surfaces (on walls, wardrobes or even on the ceiling).

3. It is worth abandoning massive chandeliers, because they visually make the room heavier and visually reduce the level of the ceiling. Therefore, it is better to replace massive crystal chandeliers with built-in lamps, LED lighting, or even highlight each zone separately to add warmth and brightness to the interior.

4. It is better to make the most of the functionality and plan in advance the storage space. It is necessary to make it a rule to arrange cleaning in a small apartment more often and get rid of trash.

5. Give up curtains, replacing them with blinds. Furniture should also be chosen in light shades, because dark colors will seem too massive in a small space.

6. It is worth using functional creative furniture, which, if necessary, can be easily removed to free up space.
