This evergreen tree reaches a height of 10 m. Today, varieties of dwarf and shrub forms have been bred. They are used to decorate the landscape and strengthen the slopes.

Pine is a frost-hardy plant that tolerates drought, smoke and snow. A tree grows in sunny areas, it is undemanding to soils, it is rarely affected by diseases and pests.

The young bark is gray-brown in color, its color changes with age. The needles are dark green, up to 2,5 cm long, the needles are sharp. An adult plant has cones. They are located at the tips of young shoots.

  • “Carstens Wintergold” is a spherical low shrub, its height does not exceed 40 cm. The color of the needles changes depending on the season. In spring, the crown is green, gradually acquiring a golden hue, then honey. The needles grow in bunches. An adult plant bears fruit with egg-shaped cones. The variety is not resistant to pests, requires preventive spraying.
  • Golden Globe is a shrub with a spherical crown. It grows to a height of 1 m. The needles are green, in winter they turn yellow. The crown is dense, the shoots grow vertically. The root system is superficial and requires careful handling. Pine is not resistant to pests, it is sprayed for prophylaxis.
  • “Kissen” is a small ornamental plant with a rounded crown, the color of the needles is dark green. The shrub grows very slowly, by the age of 10 it reaches a height of 0,5 m. In a year, the shoots grow only 2-3 cm. The pine tree is suitable for planting within the city, rarely gets sick.

All varieties and varieties are planted only in sunny areas, they do not tolerate shading. Suitable for rocky hills, alpine gardens and as a pot plant.
