Chronic constipation due to hormonal, inflammatory, vascular or oncological diseases must be treated under the supervision of a gastroenterologist. If the disease is caused by stress, physical inactivity, malnutrition or other problems that do not require medical attention, you can try folk remedies.

You can improve intestinal motility with the help of wheat or rye bran. You need to take them 2-3 times a day with meals for a course of at least a month. The optimal starting dosage is 2-3 teaspoons. If the treatment is well tolerated, a single serving of bran can be increased to 3 tablespoons.

Bran can be taken not only dry. The gruel, which is obtained by brewing the dry mass with boiling water in a 1: 1 ratio, has a good effect. It is advisable to cool the mixture before use.

You can also cope with chronic constipation with the help of herbal decoctions. Flaxseed is especially effective. A tablespoon of raw materials must be poured with a glass of boiling water, cover with a lid and insist for an hour. You need to take this remedy twice a day – on an empty stomach, before the morning meal, and in the evening, shortly before going to bed. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks.
