Chamomile is considered one of the most popular herbs in folk medicine, and traditional doctors often recommend using it as well. This herb is suitable for the treatment of many diseases in both children and adults.

Chamomile flowers, stems and roots have medicinal properties. But most often in pharmacies it is the aerial part of the plant that can be found. Chamomile is on sale: – in dried crushed form, – in filter bags, – pharmacy chamomile, – as part of herbal preparations. For babies of any age, it can be used in any form.

When chamomile is good for you

For babies, chamomile is good for bathing. Chamomile infusion is added to the trays to disinfect the water. It also has healing properties, so it helps to heal injuries, cuts and bites. It is good to use baths when prickly heat, diathesis and other skin rashes appear. You can bathe your baby in such a solution every day, up to 6 months it is recommended to do it regularly.

Chamomile infusion helps with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. If diarrhea, flatulence or bloating occurs, make a decoction of chamomile flowers and give it to your baby 3 times a day. The volume depends on age: infants 2 tablespoons, adult children 0,5 cups. Chamomile also helps to treat: – ulcers, – gastritis, – relieves spasms and colic.

Contraindication to the use of chamomile is only individual intolerance.

Chamomile is used to treat colds. Gargle with chamomile, chamomile tea with honey is an antibacterial agent. The infusion of this herb helps relieve inflammation, makes breathing easier, relieves redness. Chamomile is especially effective for coughs. Gargling and rinsing your nose with sore throat should be at least 2 times a day to get a noticeable result. Also, a foot bath with chamomile will not be superfluous, but it is shown only in the absence of temperature.

Fresh chamomile infusion helps treat eye diseases in children. Redness is relieved by rinsing the eyes. You can apply cotton swabs dipped in a decoction or infusion to the eyelids. During this procedure, it is necessary to maintain a temperature balance. The liquid should not burn the skin. It will be correct to control the temperature in order to prevent too cold an option.

When buying fees with chamomile, use the instructions. If you bought a loose version, make an infusion out of it. Add 1,5 cups (300 ml) hot water to one tablespoon of crushed chamomile. Close the lid, let it brew for 15 minutes. This infusion is suitable for: – drinking, – rinsing, – bathing. You can brew such a broth in a teapot or thermos.

If there is a baby in the house, then it is better to boil the chamomile. The newborn reacts more sharply to the composition of the fees, so the concentration should be reduced. Add 300–1,5 tablespoons of chamomile to a saucepan of hot water (2 ml). Leave on fire for 5 minutes. Cool to required temperature. Dilute with water if you are going to use chamomile as a remedy for a baby under one year old.

Chamomile bags just need to be steamed with boiling water. It is better to place it later under the lid to let it brew. It is worth remembering that such tea is soothing for the nervous system, therefore, one should expect that the child will be less mobile after tea and will fall asleep quickly.
