Cat love: a sad story from the life of cats

😉 Greetings, dear readers! Thank you for choosing the article “Cat Love” on this site! I hope that this little story will be of interest to you.

Does cat love exist? Judge for yourself …

Never say never”

After my beloved cat died, I decided that there would be no more animals in the house. And if someone offered a kitten, she refused: why, they say, do I need extra trouble? The cat will tear up the wallpaper, wake him up in the morning to be fed, sing serenades in the spring …

And my colleague suddenly began to persuade me to take Ryzhik’s cat from her. She picked him up, wounded, at the bus stop, washed him and got out. I could not leave it at home, because an aggressive Giant Schnauzer lived at home, not tolerating “outsiders”.

There were conversations about Ryzhik every day. I already knew that this is a sterilized fluffy handsome man with a luxurious tail and an angelic character. Moreover, a wonderful mice. But I didn’t want to take an adult cat.

And suddenly I found a mouse at home. Mom had said for a long time that the neighbors on the floor above were full of mice. So one ran over to us. For a week we laid out a plague of mice around the apartment. The pestilence disappeared, but the mouse did not. When she caught my eye, it was clear that from this poison she was only getting thicker.

I had to tell my colleague that I agree to take Ryzhik. She, in joy, together with the cat, presented me her carrier bag.

Ryzhik

Ginger turned out to be a surprisingly delicate and well-mannered animal. He could be safely left alone with the sausage on a plate or even with the beef liver loved by all cats.

It did not even occur to the cat to jump on the table and grab something there without asking. And most importantly, he quickly caught the annoying mouse and put it in the middle of the room for everyone to see.

In general, we were pleased with Ryzhik – especially the fact that he loved pea soup, borscht and kefir and did not pretend to be meat delicacies.

Once, when, jumping on my lap, the mouse hunter yawned, I shouted:

– Mom, bring a magnifying glass, it seems he has no teeth! After examining the cat’s mouth, we understood why he liked soups and did not eat meat. He had almost no teeth. The veterinarian determined that the cat was at least 15-17 years old, and sympathetically said that we must provide Ryzhik with a dignified old age.

For two years we regularly grew cat grass, fed Ryzhik with vitamins. And yet the time came when the cat refused to eat, his fur began to climb in tufts. I decided to settle Ryzhik at the dacha: maybe there he will be cured and find some natural remedy that will help him.

In June, I took the cat to the country house, put the bedding on the veranda, left the food in the saucer. Having closed the door, I left a gap so that the cat could freely leave the house and come back in. Ginger lay on the mat and breathed with a hoarse whistle.

Musya

I left, but I was very worried that I left the cat to the mercy of fate. A day later I went to see him. I went in – there was a mouse on the mat, and no one was there. The food in the saucer is intact. I walk around the garden, I call:

– Ginger, Ginger!

The cat doesn’t respond. Found him in a neighbor’s garden. He sat in the thick grass and closely watched Musya, the neighbor’s cat.

Musya’s neighbors were given a kitten a year ago. They doted in her, cared for, cherished, at first carried in their arms, afraid to lower them to the ground so as not to get dirty. A year later, they began to take with them to the garden and carefully watched that the kitty walked only along the paths and did not run out of the territory.

And this green-eyed black beauty with a white shirt-front on her chest, looking at Ryzhik, invitingly twisted her tail and meowed affably.

A new life has begun for the cat. He came to life before our eyes. The coat has become silky and shiny. Every day he entered the territory of the neighboring garden, talked with Musya, and, apparently, each time his warm feeling for her grew.

Ginger brought her strangled mice. He turned out to be a good teacher, and soon Musya also became an avid hunter. Together they caught all the mice in our areas and took up the moles.

After a while, the neighbors, laughing, informed me that my cat comes to Musa as to his home, eats everything that is in her bowl and leaves. And Musya snorts displeasedly.

– Of course, – I say, – what woman would like a man to come, eat everything and leave …

Treason

You can’t fool nature. Musya entered the period of maturity and tried in every possible way to flirt with Ryzhik, but the old cat was of little use.

And then a young energetic cat Scoundrel, a pet of other neighbors, got into the habit of going to Musa. He did not come for food, he needed Musya herself. She flirted and flirted with him.

Once Ryzhik could not stand it and entered into battle with a young rival. But the forces were unequal. Toothless old Ginger, pretty shabby, crawled away to lick his wounds, and the green-eyed beauty indulged in love pleasures with the winner.

This went on for a week. Ginger lost his appetite and sleep from melancholy. And one day he disappeared. I searched the whole garden, but in vain …

A week later, when we got used to the idea that the cat had gone into the forest to die, the neighbors reported:

– Musya went for your Ryzhik and brought him out of the forest. Go see. Cat love …

When I saw a shabby, thin Ryzhik lying on the mat and Musya sitting next to him, who was carefully licking him, tears welled up in my eyes. Ryzhik was dying, and Musya tried in vain to bring him back to life. The neighbors called her home, but the cat did not leave. We left them on the veranda.

The next day Ryzhik died. And Musya fell out of love with Scoundrel, hissed at him and drove him away.
