Brown spots – Our doctor’s opinion

Brown spots – Our doctor’s opinion

As part of its quality approach, Passeportsanté.net invites you to discover the opinion of a health professional. Dr Jacques Allard, general practitioner, gives you his opinion on the Brown stains :

Dark spots are not a health hazard. Without being a disease, they can however bother the person who presents them. Treatments exist. They do not completely remove dark spots, but they can significantly reduce them. Prevention, however, remains the most effective remedy.

In addition, I advise you to consult your doctor if one or more brown spots change in appearance. If the spot turns black, grows quickly and has irregular edges with the appearance of unusual colors (red, white, blue), or is accompanied by itching and bleeding, these changes could be signs of melanoma, a very serious type of cancer.
