Bonobos on DVD

Beni, a young bonobo from northern Zaire (ex-Congo), is captured by poachers. His mother was shot while trying to protect him. After living a few months in captivity like a fairground animal in a bar in Kinshasa, Béni is recovered in a sorry state by Claudine André.

This Frenchwoman, emulated by Diane Fossey or Jane Goodall, devotes her life to the defense of this threatened great ape.

She then brings Beni back to the sanctuary she created near Kinshasa. There, in this piece of jungle, Beni will find a taste for life in the midst of his congeners and perhaps be able to be reinserted into his natural habitat.
