Naidan (in Tuvan “forever alive”) was born in Ulan Bator on January 31, 1952 in the family of the artist Nikolai Rushev and his wife, ballerina Natalia Azhikmaa.

When the girl was six months old, the family moved to Moscow. Nadya’s father worked on television, and her mother raised her daughter and ran the household. From the age of 5, drawing was her favorite pastime for the baby.

At the age of 7, while listening to “The Tale of Tsar Saltan,” which her father read to her at night, she created 36 drawings for what she had heard.

“Youth”

In the spring of 1964. Yunost organized an exhibition of her works. From 1964 to 1969, 15 exhibitions were held in the USSR and in many large countries.

In 1965, this magazine published her drawings for E. Pashnev’s story “Newton’s Apple”. This was followed by drawings for the novel “War and Peace”.

“Artek”

In 1967, Nadezhda visited the Artek pioneer camp, where she made friends with Oleg Safaraliev. Of course, she could not live here without painting either. Her mother agreed to print her daughter’s correspondence with Alik (Oleg), as the girl called her friend.

In these letters, 15-year-olds dreamed of the future, wrote about school affairs, some new hobbies … Film director O. Safaraliev carefully keeps these letters and drawings of a friend from the pioneer camp.

“The Master and Margarita”

Among the drawings there is a depiction of some scenes from the ballet “Anna Karenina”. But the premiere of this performance to the music of Rodion Shchedrin was staged at the Bolshoi Theater only on June 10, 1972. The leading part was performed by the incomparable ballet star Maya Plisetskaya. Long before this event, Nadya saw him with her inner vision.

When Nadia learned to read, she created extraordinary drawings for The Bronze Horseman, Belkin’s Tale and Eugene Onegin. Gradually, pencil sketches were supplemented with images written in pastel, felt-tip pen and brush. She was called the Mozart of painting.

Pushkinist A. Gessen turned to Mozart of Painting with a request to illustrate his book The Life of a Poet. She read the works of literary critics and visited the poet’s apartment. Nadezhda decided to write her small paintings with a goose pen.

But Hesse for some reason refused the order and the book came out without illustrations. Three hundred amazing drawings are on display in various museums and art galleries.
